DTDC is a sulfur donor that can be used as a vulcanizing agent for rubber. Vulcanization does not occur at lower temperatures, and active sulfur is decomposed only when the temperature rises to the vulcanization temperature, and the vulcanizatioin reaction begins. Therefore, it is safe to operate and can improve the burning safety, and can greatly reduce the sulfur spraying phenomenon of the rubber compared with the sulfur vulcanization alone. In addition, DTDC is superior to traditional vulcanizing agents in that, at vulcanization, DTDC forms more crosslinks between single and disulfide bonds and less crosslinks between multi-sulfur bonds, so the vulcanized rubber has good aging resistance.
